Biography
Pastor Joseph Prince was born Xenonamandar Jegahusiee Singh in Singapore to a Sikh priest of Indian origin and a Chinese mother. His early years were spent in Perak, Malaysia, attending primary school. Afterward, he continued his education at Commonwealth Secondary School and completed his A levels at the private school Our Lady of Lourdes.
While working as an IT consultant, Prince adopted the name Joseph Prince. This name change occurred just before he was appointed senior pastor in 1990.
In February 2023, Prince experienced the loss of his mother after a brief illness. He shared the news on Instagram, expressing his deep feelings: “My much-loved mother is now with Jesus. ‘To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord’ (2 Cor. 5:8). She gave me the greatest gift of all – when I was still a child, she introduced me to Jesus. I will miss her greatly.”
