FUOYE Plans Grants For Annual Research

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, said on Wednesday that the university would inject t funds into research annually to encourage scholarship, innovations and inventions .

Fasina, who siad the institution had not done much in the area of research in the last three years, said his administration would inject N100m annually into research.

The VC, who spoke in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during a ‘Research capacity building workshop for academic staff,’ said, “We have produced a research policy. We are going to create an environment where our students will be able to get revolving research grants. It can come in forms of N200m or N300m.”

A statement by FUOYE Public Relations Officer, Foluso Ogunmodede; and Media Adviser to the VC, Wole Balogun, stated that the new PhD graduate, Olumide Atofarati, was guided by his supervisor, the VC and thus became the first student to have successfully completed and defended his PhD in FUOYE.
